Cast Iron Mangle Circa 1900
Wonderful Cast iron mangle, circa 1900 by Anthony Hordern & Sons of Haymarket in Sydney.
The mangle was used to wring out washed linen and clothes, and to press, smooth and add gloss to dampened household linen without having to iron.
Such an impressive piece. Very heavy.
It stands 1540mm high and is 890mm wide x 480mm deep.
The colour may be slightly different depending on your screen. All of our furniture is Antique or Vintage and has patina.
When we restore pieces we never take them back to raw as this lessens the integrity of a piece. Patina is the build up of little marks and scratches over the many years of the life of an antique, these give it a lovely warm overall appearance.
If there are any major marks or defects we will always point them out either in the description and or photos. If you need more photos just let us know. Inspections welcome. Pop into our shop.
Any questions please ask.
