Early 18th C Oak Coffer

$1,400.00

Very special late 17th to early18th Century carved and inlaid oak coffer.
The hook & loop hinged three panelled top opening to reveal a large storage space. The front also has three panels, each with diamonds filled with carved detials . decorative triangular ebonised inlay flanks the middle carving. Above them is a beautifully carved design. This coffer has a lovely warm oak colour. There are small areas of old wood worm nibbles as shown. The lid of the original candle box (small box inside coffers) is present but the base is not.
It measures 1240mm wide x 535mm deep x 685mm high.
The colour may be slightly different depending on your screen. All of our furniture is Antique or Vintage and has patina.

When we restore pieces we never take them back to raw as this lessens the integrity of a piece. Patina is the build up of little marks and scratches over the many years of the life of an antique, these give it a lovely warm overall appearance.

If there are any major marks or defects we will always point them out either in the description and or photos. If you need more photos just let us know. Inspections welcome. Pop into our shop.
